The Mission of the NORMAL Inc. Community Garden Program is based on these beliefs:
The mission of the NORMAL Inc. Community Garden Program is to strengthen the community and foster a self-sustaining community by providing access for all to food production and preservation resources and promoting sustainable gardening practices that will help feed their family and stop hunger.
We believe that access to food is a universal right. We believe that our community garden will provide significant amounts of high quality foods.
We believe that teaching gardening will provide some of the highest quality foods.
We believe that gardening is in line with our conservation program and benefits the soil, the watershed, the air and the health of the people who eat the produce.
We believe that gardening involves an opportunity for people to become healthy and self supporting while help us nourish the earth.
We believe that gardening will enhances human equality, stimulates human generosity and benefits the health of individuals, families, neighborhoods and communities.
We believe that the NORMAL Inc. Community Garden Program is a positive model for Building a Better Tomorrow.
We believe the Garden Program is only successful with collaborative relationships with individuals, neighborhood organizations, government agencies.
